Welcome to the blog. Good luck with your triathlon.

Hey Pleasant,

I had that BQ goal but it kinda blew up a few months ago with a knee problem and then a hip problem. Now I'm on the triathlon path...not necessarly intentional but I've had to start biking and stop running for a while. Today I completed a triathlon by running (a short run) biking and then jumping into the shower (I'm counting that as a swim :-). Welcome to the BLOG...!!

Thanks for the "Welcomes". I feel ready for the tri in a little over a week- .9 mile swim, 12 mile bike and 5k run-

I did start the official Boston qualifying training this past Sunday- 10miles in 1:23- my goal is to come in at 3hours at the qualifying run in March. Any suggestions on shaving off time/ increasing speed that won't leave dead to the world?

From Burt on Wed, Sep 07, 2011 at 12:56:08 from 206.19.214.144

I would ask Paul or Sasha. But I don't see any way around being dead to the world. :)

Burt's suggestion is good. I'm not a very experienced runner and as you can see from my Blog title "I Just Run" ...!

I'm running St George on October 1st. It has been a long 16 weeks of training so far. It will be my first marathon. Something I never desired to do until my sister talked me into putting in with her. I had to look at the qualifying times for Boston before I committed to running. I figured with hard work I could probably do it. St. George is a qualifier and is supposed to be a fast course. It would qualify me for the 2013 race because it is so late in the year. I'm starting to get excited thanks for the support. Starting out has been the hard part. Keep working I've had my ups and downs and will keep you posted.

Just checking on you. It looks like your still doing great. Quick update, I ran St George and was able to qualify for Boston. The week before the race turned out to be one of the worst weeks ever. So I was very pleased to get the time. Keep working and you'll get there too.

Thanks for the checkup CR! Everything is progressing well- mileage is increasing-cautiously- I am fine but fear an injury if I increase the mileage too quickly.

That is great that you qualified! That is very encouraging- keep me updated.
